A Voice Of Nonviolent Poem by Tulsi Shrestha

A Voice Of Nonviolent

A Voice Of Nonviolent
A voice of nonviolent, Gandhi echoed throughout world, so clear
To shake the foundation of British Empire, without any fear.
Color discrimination He witnessed in South Africa, although painful
Delighted Him with spirits of Equality and Justice, were really fruitful.

His Salt March up to 240 miles far Dandi, coast of Arabian sea.
Indeed, protest against British's monopoly over salt of sea.
The foundation of British Empire got so badly shaken.
When, conscience of civil rights and freedom, were enlightened .

Gandhi nurtured the spirit of Self - reliance in hearts of millions
That inspired to avoid western products, worth more than billions.
Passion for revolution accompanied by mass civil disobedience
Ensured an untired voice for restoration of great independence.

The glory of victory was gained without shedding blood.
A thin- old man with bare chest and self spun loin cloth.
'Power of non-violence ' He profoundly incited to the world.
He transformed as a symbol of inspiration for whole world.

How powerful measures, based on humanity, love and truth.
Fasting, mass self -arrest and forgiveness are sweet fruits.
That create the impulse of freedom, equality and peace.
You might have perceived greatness of such a divine soul
That enforced millions of guns to freeze in honour of peace.

....greatness of such a divine soul ....enforced millions of guns to freeze in honour of peace. A great tribute to Mahatma Gandhi and his philosophy and strategy which shook the foundations of the British Empire in India. It was a bloodless coup in which India secured its freedom. Thanks.
