A Voice Has Uttered.... Poem by Almira Bausley

A Voice Has Uttered....

A voice has uttered
My ears could not receive it
My spirit trembles
And strength is muttered
Many voices run together
I cannot discern the meaning
But every time it sounds forth
Through my body it starts ringing
Moaning and groaning
Swaying my head back and forth
I cannot open my eyes
My legs are still
My arms surrendered
Strength fails
But the sound becomes
more distinct in my hearing
It pulses
In my being
It touches me
The word spoken
and I quiver
My eyes open
But a fog covers me
And slowly starts to drift away
As if someone was blowing through it
Darkness gives place to light
By the power of a whisper
I see
People gathered around me
Holding hands
Lips moving
And every time they speak
I regain strength
How could this be?
Wherein does all this power lie?
And what are they saying?
I fix my gaze upon their faces
But can they see me?
I behold them as weak
and common women
but with mighty speech
A name sits upon their lips
and it floods over me
A life giving spirit overtakes me
Throbbing on my wounds
Taking away the sting
Surged with power I jolt up in my bed
but they are gone
A tingling sensation crawls up my skin
and I am left with
A mystery in my heart
A word echoing in my thoughts
The word, the name
Is one and the same
………….…..Jesus.
