A Voice From The Grave Poem by Shujaat Rahi

A Voice From The Grave

Rating: 5.0

Embrace of mother earth
Is but caress of silk
The touch of timeless time
Is sweet like mother's milk

The darkness here doth glow
Engulfed in dancing rays
There are no horrid nights
No dragging weary days

A whispering tender voice
Enchants a lullaby
Some cherubs, pure and white
Frolick in yonder sky

Like infants one doth sleep
Like soaring birds doth rise
'Tis hard to meausure pleasure
Through inference or surmise

Let me forget for good
The pangs that I endured
Adieu! O brutal world!
I cannot be allured.
