A Treasure Like You Poem by Leslie Alexis

A Treasure Like You

It is difficult to find another you, my Love.
Your mold has been broken and is no more.
You are a fading catch from a distant shore,
From a time when ladies of honor were galore.
But like a sea that was not replenished,
Jellyfish women who were never wished-
because they lack substance - pridefully swish,
taking over the seas, they rudely shove.
Ravaging virtue's seed without letting them grow
They corrupt those that birth to fit the niche.
But you, my love, stand out like the midday sun,
or in keeping with the going of the sea, a whale
that over-flows the void with a flick of her tail.
You cause men to look on in astonishment.
As is light so are you, my Love; you are heaven-sent.
