A Time To Pray Poem by Cortez Maurell Lewis

A Time To Pray

You are my friend to the end
But without praise
When the time comes
We'll be going separate ways

Have a prayer for your family
And all those on earth
Don't forget about the doctor
That was there to give you birth

Have a prayer at the restaurant
For the food you're about to eat
You could even say one for the employees
Working hard on their feet

Even animals need prayer
Even dogs in the pound
Why not pray they get a job
Leading the blind around town

Pray when life treats you good
Pray when life treats you bad
Pray when your happy
Pray when your sad

And if you don't want to pray
Just do your best to maintain
But when things don't go your way
You better not complain………Have a prayer!
