A Time Gone By Poem by Bob Densmore

A Time Gone By

No pitter patter
Voices in chit chatter
No ski-daddle
Or Daddy doggie saddle

No skinned knees
And thank you pretty please
No birds and bees
Or hot cups of Nestlé’s

No Santa on the lawn
Christmas dawn
No little swans
Drawing hearts in Crayon

No, “Did you see me Daddy? ”
No, “Do you like it Daddy? ”
No, “Watch me Daddy! ”
No, “I love you Daddy.”

No wishing upon a star,
Or yelling, “Don’t go too far”.
Just memories now, clouds in the sky,
It was another time, a Time Gone By.
