A Thousand Poem by Charles Hancock

A Thousand

I wrote you a thousand love letters
in the sand
Enough to fill my heart's ledgers
with Cupid's shorthand

I sang you a thousand love songs
in the night
I hear bells, whistles, and gongs
every time we reunite

I dreamed a thousand dreams
about you
My heart bursts at its seams
with each fantasy debut

I gave you a thousand kisses
while you slept
Now that we're Mr. and Mrs.,
my vows will be kept
