A Tale Of Two Brothers Poem by G. Akanji Olaniyi

A Tale Of Two Brothers

Rating: 4.0

This is a tale of two brothers
Both are troublemakers
They came through our entry points
The first through the borders; when the officers were sleeping
The second through the airport; his handsomeness was confounding
The elder came with a mission, obviously
The younger said he wanted a solution, deceptively
Now, they are the causes of our 'unrest'

The former had stayed longer and became household
The latter sneaked in to put fear in the neighborhood
At the moment, the brothers are forcing people away through the entry points they came in:
The elder sent soldiers running out for dear lives through the borders
The younger is scaring people away through the airports
Now our officers have woken up from their slumbers
And our medics have put on their canvas and jumpers

Death be the reward of the brother, elder
Flushed, away, down the drains for the brother, younger
Our people will sleep in their homes in peace
And our children will play in their schools in peace
Farewell, these troublemakers! ! !
Bye! Bye! ! Bye! ! ! unrepentant city shakers! ! !
