A Summer With A Dream Poem by Jayeeta Bhattacharya

A Summer With A Dream

And when we started talking
And the sun was no more there
We were talking about verses
of love and certain things...
Daily necessities or stories around.
Even then it was yellow around
Even then came the grasshopper
The wood was still, the water reduced
In our life, a dry and sulky
summer it was.
The words were flying between us,
The smile crawling through the hormone.
It was then that the twilight arrived
unnoticed behind the greens.
It was cool, we were close,
the river laughed.
We heard the band of the Masai
We saw the moon dance, it was a
Summer evening
It was a dream, captivated in my heart.
