A Sudden Raindrop Evokes Poem by Sangeeta Chakraborty

A Sudden Raindrop Evokes

A sudden raindrop, like a gentle touch,
transforms the mood, shifts the perspectives,
and erases exhaustion.

All of a sudden, you feel sudden peace,
like the deafening silence in the temple on the hills,
Or the echo of temple bells,
the whispers of wind through hanging chimes.

The sudden silence on the rain-kissed road,
freshly bathed and adorned,
tiny raindrops on the leaves shine like ornaments.

Rain, from childhood to adulthood to old age,
stirs memories!
Rain comes with music, food, poems, pleasure,
and a cozy feeling.

I remember the rainy school days,
those were my favorites.
Cycling, playing, romance in the rain,
farmers preparing for its arrival,
people protecting clothes and grains from the rain's wrath.

It saves, it takes!
Takes shelter, and ruins lives.
Hence a joy to some,
and a concern to others!
An eternal truth, a vital need indeed.

What is a need?
Is it a desire to be understood?
And what is understanding?
Sometimes, it's the unspoken,
Like the way tiny raindrops soothe our skin!

Yet what brings peace can also take it away.
So why do we seek peace?
Perhaps it has always been within us, unnoticed.

Even in those scorching heat too!
You are feeling peace because
you have been burned before! !
Otherwise, it's the same! !
