A Strange Figure Poem by Nicole GravellPellerino

A Strange Figure

I stare out my bedroom window
on a cool autumn night,
as I scan the clear midnight horizon
an eerie sensation comes over me,

My eyes catch strange figure
hiding in the almost barren braches
of an old oak tree,
sittting lonely in the middle of my lawn,

He's been watching me intently
studying my every move
learning my habits,
stalking me from the tree branch,

tonight is the night
he is bringing the game close,
silently breaking into my home
slipping through a broken basement window,

he creeps up the old wooden stairs
with light feet,
unnoticed he glides into my bedroom
the fan muffling any noise,

He watches me sleep,
breathing heavily
I feel a chill
running down my neck

My eyes open wide,
and I freeze with terror
unable to move
he lunges toward me

we meet face to face
for the first time
as we struggle
he wrestles me to the floor

shouting in violent anger
'if I can't have you no one can! ! ! '
pointing a sharp blade
at my racing heart

I struggle ti fight him off me
but it's no use
his strenght is much greater
than my own

He thrust the blade upwards
effortlessing guiding it
into my chest
and I gasp, unable to speak,

His cold expressionless face
watches eagarly
as life draines from
my crystal blue eyes

The strange figure
slowly withdraws the bloddy blade
easing my lifeless body
to the cold groud

Ice coldand lifeless
I stare up at the ceiling
as the the strange figure
hovers over my corpse
