A Storm Poem by Rob Mandel

A Storm

blankets of darkness fall upon me
one after another
after another

I raise my hands
to make room to breath
to see

It's no use
they fall like a storm
of endless rain
I have no choice
but to accept the pain

I finally give up my desire for space
expecting to drown in the flood of darkness
I close my eyes and wait
for my breathing to cease

but it does not
and I dare to open them once more
I can see the truth beset in the darkness
how it is only a piece
of an atmosphere of worldy colors

now I know for what I have a will
I must spend my days among the colors
to feel his purpose
