A Son's Oath To His Mother Poem by Akeem Mair

A Son's Oath To His Mother

Rating: 4.5

I wanna make it for my mama,
I'm tired of being in debt with broke problems
It's Always been a family drama
That's got me wishin for a life with more commas
Picture your own mother on a bed
With a bill in her hand and a pile of water where the tears had shed
Too much pain to deal with,
But suicide ain't the answer
Because who going to take care of my mother
when I'm 6 feet under
I'm just tired of worrying about money
I took an oath reach my dreams
Somehow I gotta find it in me
To make it big in passions I inspire
A reality I desire richer for her
To relinquish all these poverty fires
That's been burning up my family for years
Memories of too many shed tears
To quit on myself and my career
Of course the devil is there
But my God is much stronger
Drowning in my own stress
But I found peace and success
in my sacrificial selfless prayers
Is a crying son's oath to his mother
