A Small Woman Poem by Hassan Najmi

A Small Woman

On a rainy night she stood crying.
Like defenseless rain she wept.
I did not lift my eyes from the book.
And I did not wipe her tears.

Before I lay to sleep
she appeared in the last chapter of the novel.

So as not to cry
I closed the book, and my head on the pillow.
