A Single Mental Day Poem by Phillip Nine Mafunga

A Single Mental Day

Rating: 5.0

Today my head feels grey
I'm exhausted even from things I can't think of
Then I feel like better I just vanish
One moment, I'm all spritely as a sunny day
Well, it's all vanity of emotional oscillations

There're all the reasons for speaking out
I guess the better with the mouth shut
In today's brittl' generation, emotions just bleed out with ease
As you'll notice, tolerance is now gay
To the extent, that life it self's lost its day

That great glassy edifice of meaninglessness
That rise into emptiness to fool those seeking for liberty
Well, they've us all corralled into their new order of life
Syringed n' needled to submission or else your livelihood's deoxygenated
Maybe I'm just mad at the wind, but I'd rather be with my mouth shut
