A Shooting Star Poem by Ray Hansell

A Shooting Star

I can't erase the smile
That's upon my face
Being here with you
In such a perfect place

No one else around us
Only, you and I
And of course a billion stars
High up in the sky

It's a love's paradise
On a warm summers night
When everything seems perfect
And everything is just right

We watch a shooting star
Speed across the sky
We both made a wish
Before it said goodbye

Soon it was out of sight
But our wishes had been made
So now we'll just wait and see
If it's fact or a charade
