A Secret Place Poem by Cheryl Spillman

A Secret Place

I have a Secret Place to go,
Solitude and privacy is for prayer and meditation,
A place halfway between head and heart,
Between Thought and Emotion.

As I think, pray, and meditate,
I have come to see some people are toxic.
They are better left alone.
He is poison and I am worth more.

My Secret Place is still secret,
A refuge for me.
A shade in summer and a fireplace in winter.
The poison is gone from me now.

He will bother me no more,
I cannot unhear things that were said,
Meant to hurt, cause pain of heart amd Mind
