A Prayer To Remember God's Mercy, Faithfulness, Grace And Compassion Poem by Sylvia Frances Chan

A Prayer To Remember God's Mercy, Faithfulness, Grace And Compassion

Rating: 5.0

This poem is in Rubaiyat format, AABA end rhymes.
Inspired by Psalm 145: 8 The Lord is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and rich in love.

The Lord is gracious and merciful,
slow to anger and beautiful,
abundant in steadfast love,
keeps us awake and cheerful

we pray the fruit of the Spirit over our lives,
and Your armor over the state of our strives
God, we come to You daily for forgiveness,
with cracked phone screens and broken lives

our anger costs us, Father,
but you are always there, You bother
to pick up the pieces, when we look at a shattered screen,
we can't see a way to fix it rather

We stick a screen protector over it or cover
it with packing tape to keep it together,
but we can't undo the effects of the breakage on our own.
that is possible, Father. When our hearts are shattered, rather

our relationships, marriages, our lives are scattered
you are there to bring back together, You bothered
what shatters our anger and this sinful world.
Thank you, Jesus, so very much you bothered

Thank you, Jesus, for being everything we cannot be,
to follow the law perfectly and sacrifice Yourself for me
to bring us back together. We come to You unable to avoid sin,
but free from its permanent hold on our lives. Keep setting us free,

teaching us, healing us, and making our hearts more like yours, Father.
Surrounded by mercy, grace, love and compassion, You always bother
This is who we want to be. Who we were meant to be in eternity.
Only one day you know. Increase our confidence in You, Father

Let's live honest, consistent lives in the love of Jesus Christ.
