A Poet's Consolation Poem by Sivamadhaviyam Siva Prasad peddi

A Poet's Consolation

Threatening to burst, clouds occupied the sky
But the wind, blew it all, scattering them away
Both the clouds and dust, suffered the powerful gust
Neither the thunder clouds nor the gusty winds sustain

Like agitators in the streets making a war cry
And the protectors, kept the agitators at bay
Common classes crushed during the unrest
Protectors or the agitators never feel the pain

Common man and blades of grass have no say
Being real victims, bearing the suffering stay
Keep asking self, how long is this test?
As dumb witnesses, they only remain

The thoughts from mind, rushing out to say
Clear ideas remain, separated like the whey
Turmoil in the heart, unable to bring out the best
Poet's consolation, history records, this as a stain
