a poet like an Olympic diver
who can stand upon the high board
make any dive despite degrees
of difficulty to style perfection
to dive at a precise moment

in time with every movement
trained into perfect synchronized
perfection until the final split
second entry into pool water
without a splash with barely a ripple

upon the water a poet like a gold
medalist Olympic diver completing
perfect dives like perfect poems

then disappearing
without a trace
diving into the blue
