A poet sits open mouthed in shock

The future‘s gone
The future’s lost

Every day the news becomes more and
More obscene

Children starving dying right there on the screen

You can’t make it
Go away
No form of make up
Can cover up!

War has been declared
On each others’ faith
For one side it’s the oil
And control of drugs
All for their own ends
Innocents ask how can we make amends?
