A Place Meant For Heaven

Three hundred steps from the swinging bridge
North off the trail through the forest to a creek
They agreed with a kiss it was the perfect place
To carve those words in an older cedar snag
And to take an oath to return one day
They'd come back together when their old and gray

But fate went its own way on the drive home
They never saw that turn in the road

There's a place on earth meant for heaven
It waits down here for no one to see
This place bares a message
Only two know what it reads

Life flies by in the wink of an eye
He can't believe how fast its went by
But not a day has past without him missing her
So with the help of a cane he goes back to the path
He longs to look but he hold himself back
He can't break the promise he made to have her there

He wonders why his life has been so unfair
He bow's his head and say's 'God I wish she was here'

There's a place on earth meant for heaven
It waits down here for no one to see
This place bares a message
Only two know what it reads

There was no light or tunnel when his life finally came to an end
But there she was waiting at the swinging bridge

There's a place on earth that's in heaven
It no longer waits for no one to see
This place bares a message
Only two know what it reads
Jim and Tracey for eternity :)
