A Perfect World

In a perfect world
No one would brag or pout
We would laugh and watch out
And be careful-
A perfect world

In a perfect world
Each one of us would value each other
We would all be brothers
We would all dance and sing-
A perfect world

In a perfect world
Plants and animals would live beside each other
No one would own another
Love
And the world
Would never end

poet Ralph Waldo Emerson

Knows he who tills this lonely field
To reap its scanty corn,
What mystic fruit his acres yield
At midnight and at morn?

In the long sunny afternoon,
