A Painter Named Carl,

who specialized in pictures of pillows,
was labelled a Pillowist.

The rest of the picture
he would just suggest,
or leave blank or to another.

He hit on painting actual pillows
and thought he'd hit an ace,
till he was labelled a Pillow Case -
a Slippist, for sport -
en France, un Taie-artiste.

When he took to painting envelopes,
France called him Capote Anglaise.
Where he was from he became Condom.

A Canvassist next became Condom Carl -
en France, un Iste de Toile.
