A Once Pyrrhic Victory Poem by Eli Medina

A Once Pyrrhic Victory

Whispered words of thoughtless thoughts into a midnight mist, crushing helpless hearts with a tightened fist, hearts Seem to vanish with loves grand illusion Lock away all your hopes and thoughts with divine seclusion, now love hangs beneath the cypress tree swaying in the innocent summer Bree's, forgotten love will surely in time transform to lust, the picture of you wrapped in dust when I sleep has frayed inevitably fading, still wish the best for you, wouldn't trade our time for countless forever's... my love for you will forevermore hang on to that old twisted branch waiting in the wind, in a fight to the bitter end, cause when you risk everything, you lose nothing.
