A Noble Tree Poem by Gloria S. Taylor

A Noble Tree

A tree grows tall and proud,
Reaching its branches towards the sky,
as if in prayer to God above,
it lets out a mighty cry.
"Jehovah God, how great your wonders are,
Such sights are here for all to see.
The majesty, of the universe,
A mighty tree like me.
Forever may I sing your praise,
And magnify your holy name.
If only mankind, as your son did,
would sanctify your holy name!
How sad this world has become,
Mankind is full of hate and greed,
And leaves the singing, of your praise,
to tall and noble trees."
