A Night Of Love At Wartime Poem by Stranger ...

A Night Of Love At Wartime

There's grief and a forgotten tear
Settled in our brows marked by fear
But I'd love you Ann evermore
As this woeful day draws near

Love plays a menacing melody
Whereby the skulking threnody
Sings over us for it always must
Bring love to end in tragedy

So let this sweet night be
For nothing else but you and me
Let's not wait to drown in love
For tomorrow we may never be we

Come morning the death knoll shall ring
And departing is the hardest thing
But if I ever come back alive
There will be love and more to bring
