A Much Needed Walk Poem by Tsani Jones

A Much Needed Walk

Take that walk down by
The old mill like you used to.
Let your hair down, flow,
Escape and feel the wind.

The air has changed,
Things aren't as pure,
Aren't as whole as
They used to be.

Grab that thought,
The prayer you used to pray
Once upon a time,
The words of your dream.

Ebb and flow of
A brook beside you
Sings a tune you
Used to hear, a whisper

Before the song died...

Let the mood surround you,
Feel the vibration of
Love once in your hand
Realize the mirage of what you now have.

Each step shows you
The lies you told yourself,
The blinders you forced on your eyes,
The chains you shackled yourself in.

Baby don't break...
The sand in your toes is
The firmament of love,
The tiny stones of passed passion.

But the ground is still real,
The world is still there
A forest stills stand where
All you saw were trees...

Before the music died...

Breathe a soft breath
Let me hear it.
Take that tune from deep
In your heart and force it out.

You can do this,
The world is yours.
Away with the things
That once bound you.

The orchestra of nature,
The building of new barns,
A new crop comes, waiting
Your hands in harvest.

New buds grow, lifting their
Scent onto a new earth,
Bringing a new day for you
To release the past and grasp tightly

Before your soul dies.
