A Modern Childhood Poem by Dean Bottomlley

A Modern Childhood

Dad is on his mobile.
Mum is on her phone.
That is all they ever do.
Out and when at home.

Chatter, gossip, all the time.
What do they find to say?
It's alway colleagues or it's friends
Talking rubbish night and day.

I wish that I could change my life.
Do you know what I'd be?
I would be their mobile phone.
Then they hold, and look at, ME!
