A Midnight Stroll Poem by Ryan McNicholas

A Midnight Stroll

As I walk through the dark,
My shadow flickering under every streetlight,
Sick of wars and masses of chaos,
For I walk with peace with all my heart.

The world still hates, and still won’t take note,
Yet I stand with my Peace Sign ready to spark,
I look to the heavens, for why we ache,
Still no remedy, still feel ashamed.

Years go by and still no change,
The world is still bare and full of hate,
I still stroll in the darkness, nothing in vision,
But I keep walking night after night,
Night after night.
