A Metaphorical Message Poem by Scott Stanley Davis

A Metaphorical Message

There is a book its message written, like a needle nestled in a haystack that can't be wrestled. Like precious water beneath a small rock, in an African desert so hot. Like a vapor of smoke from a cigarette just smoked. When you read it, please do not, from left to right, for its far much better to be dyslectic as you write. Narrative writers must beware for they see its garbled up wording is as a snare. It should be read where I can see; its messages are as clearly as can be. Egyptian hieroglyphics these people wrote, on tablets of stone, but there was one boat! A writing style beneath the ages, their homes, land, and country abated. So what is this book a message hidden, like needles nestled in a haystack, that can't be wrestled. Like water beneath a small rock in an African desert so hot, like a vapor of smoke from a cigarette, just smoked? It's a book written by a people smitten, by historical figures is this a trigger? It's Moses, Daniel and Jesus you see, it's the Bible written so eloquently.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Just thinking about the wisdom and eloquence of a book hidden in mystery written so long ago.
