A Loveley Tale Poem by Jay Press

A Loveley Tale

He is the master of his Existence
She is the master to his A-Pittance

He surrendered what he had
To the girl that he made laugh
The girl with the cloak and dagger
That put him in the bag

She made him make promises
Made him stay loyal and honest
He whispered tendered things in her ear
He had never been so sincere

He wanted her to love him
Just like he loved her
She wanted his obedience
She wanted to control his world

He gave her his pulsing heart for the taking
Said 'It's o.k., i trust you will not break-it'
But she smacked it to the floor
Screamed that she wanted more

She made his life A-Pittance
Convinced him he was the master of his existence
