A Lost Friend Poem by David Good

A Lost Friend

Rating: 2.5

I love you my friend and I'll never forget how you always stayed with me whenever I wept,
Your life seemed short but always you stayed to sit by my side whenever I played,

You were there for me through the good and the bad, you could always tell when I was sad,
You would just sit and stare out the door waiting for me like you always did a time or two before,
You were never selfish or full of haste, you enjoyed eating the waste that we left on our plates,

You loved to play ball and play fetch, but now it will be hard because of regret,
The time we could have spent was the time that I lost, your life was more important and now I see,
I would rather spend time with you right now then writing this poem somehow,

Its ok my friend and I know that now, you're in a better place looking down,
So sit by the door just wait for me there and remember I love you,
And I will always be there! !
