A Little Book From Me
For Geof
Who waited for so long.
Today I am taking a copy of my book
to an old and very dear friend.
He has waited for thirty years
for this moment to come along.
Although he doesn’t read a lot of poetry,
he is going to be pleased.
At last, he will have
what he has always wanted
a little book from me.
I know what he is going to say.
“Don’t take so long
for the next one to come along.”
I know they say delayed gratification is good for the soul, but this is ridiculous he he! How lovely David. I'm sure he was thrilled with his little book as we all are with this little poem. love, Allie ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
