A Letter To My Husband Poem by nahreen rahman

A Letter To My Husband

Your thoughts are engraved in my heart,
Your sweet name is etched on my body forever.
Your pure love is embedded deeply in my soul forever,
How can I ever let you go?
I breathe for you and live for you.
You are my only hope in this world where I feel so lonely and lost.
You are the one with whom I want to spend the rest of my life,
I love you with all my heart and soul.
This is what I felt for you the day I was announced to be yours:
The day I got married I forgot the colour blue,
For my life was a flush with hues and shades so plush,
With a rich palette the tint of my life was set.
The brown of the coffee stain reminds me of the brown of your iris,
The black of the ink pen reminds me of the black of your hair,
The red ink of the marker reminds me of the red of your lips,
the white of the outside reminds me of your skin.
Baby I'm sorry I can't stop myself from thinking of you.
You made my life a rainbow why I love you, now you know.
