A Leaf In The Solitary Stream Poem by Mohan M Prasad

A Leaf In The Solitary Stream

Lonely as a cloud I wandered
Where do I find I wondered?

And then came like a bolt from the blue
A petite blond with eyes like sky, blue

Is it just another of my dreams?
Like those floating leaves in that solitary stream?

Something urged me to pick it up for its grace
Though I found the little leaf** had no face

Just then I heard from the yonder an inner call
May be this beautiful leaf has it all

Wanting to hold it in a warm nest
I gently let the leaf rest in my breast

Since then I speak and chat with the faceless leaf
And feel the void slowly filling, never mind however brief

No more I now wander lonely as a cloud
Though I can never say it openly and loud
