A Leaf Poem by Micki Yulez

A Leaf

I'm a leaf
Slowly falling to the ground
To meet my dying brothers
Falling from a tree, my creator
My mother.

My life is worthless
I have no value in this life
With only the wind that moves me
Just a green speck hanging off a tree
Is all I can be.

A leaf so fragile
Wanting more importance
Jealousy my great emotion
Of the moving creatures with motion
Like the humans.

Leaf filled branches
But yet I feel alone
Birds and caterpillars I envy
Takes pieces off of me
I'm so lonely.

Humans complains
Can't believe they suffer too
Saw a dark dressed girl kill herself
She was in such good health
A girl in wealth.

Was she happy?
Or did she
Face more pain then I
Saw lost tears in her blank eyes
What a suprise!

Would she trade
Her life with mine
I'd like to feel her pain
Rather then be in a life so plain
live her life not in vain.
