A Is For ~ An Apple Orchard Love

did you know, yes it's true I love apple orchards
and yes, I love delicious apples so very much
even those apples of different varieties,
I love those crispy apples, even if they crunch

give me the red apples, the green apples
the gold apples, even the pretty pink
yum yum, I love those delicious apples
now love, this dream for you I will ink

finally, I have realize my dream of dreams
to pick up those apples every morning
even pick some chosen apples from the tree
and polish them until the early evening

just believe together love, we can both do this
early the very next day, yes with the rising sun
together, my love and I will sell them at the market
we will be together laughing and having so much fun

later, when after coming home with the setting sun
together we enjoy our meal with some sweet apple pie
then in the apple orchard, we will talk of all things
I will kiss him on the lips and look him in the eye

and I will give him a sigh, and I will say to him
yes love with you my dream of dreams has come true
just so you know, my love and I will always be together
laughing and having so much fun under the sky of blue

Cause I love apples and he loves apples
and we both love apple orchards even more!

I too love apples and apple trees. So I was immediately alive to the imagery of your poem. It's a different kind of imagery from the lush garden imagery of the *SUNPRINCESS* poems, which I feel envelops me with foliage and uncut lawns and trees that hang down like willows. This is an orchard. It's neater, nothing is overgrown, there are paths between the trees. Spending time in your orchard was equally enjoyable to the *SUNPRINCESS* garden but you have created a very different ambiance. And the love story is a delight from beginning to end. It begins as a friendship but develops into a romance with a memorable kiss sealing their bond. This is a sweet poem. It's irreducibly sweet, but not cloying. And the speaker is definitely a contemporary young woman unlike the *SUNPRINCESS* who has an impersonal quality because she derives from myth. (Report) Reply

I like the way you filled each stanza with sensory delights, colors, fragrances, activities, memory, promises to a partner, glimpses of future happiness. The poem is bursting with the energy of all this imagery of SUMMER and OUTDOOR DELIGHTS, and there's no room, no crack in a stanza for the subtle serpent to enter the poem and turn what appears to be a FOREVER MOMENT into a paradise lost. I've read Milton's epic three times and although I don't believe the GENESIS story, I still fear what it symbolizes - How the symbolic bite of the apple causes irreversible loss. That's also why we need your poems of the FOREVER MOMENT to cherish hope. (Report) Reply

What an innocent whim..... Picking apples together... eating them, selling them... making a living out of them and relishing a life of togetherness like relishing a crunchy apple! But you have also to know that life cannot be always as sweet as an apple! ! Enjoyed this beautiful poem! ! (Report) Reply

Apples bring two people together. Gathering apples, selling apples, enjoying apples and apple dishes nicely described in the poem. Thank you. (Report) Reply
