A Girl And A Monster Poem by Jasleen Kaur Khanuja

A Girl And A Monster

Rating: 5.0

Just like every other normal day, I stepped out of my house.
My eyes were filled with dreams and my mind was full of ideas.

I planned my day before I could plan my outfit.
I was achieving milestones and I was happy about it.

I never thought about the concept of unpredictability,
So yeah, I was walking down the hills to prove my credibility.

With a smile on my face.
But something happened. Oh, wait.

I could hear the footsteps following me,
I wish I could turn around and see the face of my destiny.

I walked, I walked faster so that you can't chase me,
but in no time you were there to erase me.

I wish you covered my eyes so that I can't see the monster
taking away all my pride.

You rubbed your dirty hands on my soft and pure skin,
I was shouting for help Oh my lord where have you been?

The monsters were not interested in my beauty and intelligence
but in no time I figured out they had something to do with my femaleness.

The monsters spread my legs wide apart,
and I could see them destroying all my works of art.

Yes, I gave up.
I prayed to god to stop my heart from beating,

I prayed to the universe to freeze my blood in the veins.
I prayed for the monsters to burn me after their gain.

Some hours ago I was the happiest girl on the planet,
Now I am praying to be a dead bird.

Thanks to the monsters that burned me and my dreams alive.
Thanks to the universe to prove that humans are the cruelest species alive.
