A Full Life Poem by Linda Engwall

A Full Life

Slowly we can become one with the universe
To understand our place, our purpose here
Not constrict or tightening the muscle of resistance
At the very moment we feel it pull us in
Nor requiring or needing to react to my perception of what is happening

Surrounded by the ultimate
Struggles we all face at one time or another
Brings us to this human form

Molds us, shaped by these events
That causes us to shift our perception of who we are
Going up against what isn’t fair
Making us stand, if not now, someday
To become a more compassionate, fully engaged
Human Being

Evolving moving into
True consciousness
Aware of these configurations of my being
As only to concern myself with now
To be present with no judgments
Of you or myself

Engaged in life, aware
Of only that moment, the now I feel
This is truly awakening to my life my purpose
No more is required to live
A full life

What a compelling philosophy! I love to find philosopher poets. They really add value to the poems they write. I loved your writing. It was very smoothe. It had its own rhythm to it. This is what makes it a fine poem. Congratulations! GW62

Evokes so clearly our journey to...now, just now. Don
