A Friend Is Near Poem by Sandra Feldman

A Friend Is Near

Rating: 0.5

A good friend,
Can't but put a Smile,
On your face,
When everything around you is falling apart.
And the World is but a Nightmare of disgrace,

God bless good friends,
Amen.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Thinking of my dear friend Sandy, who helped me so much in my saddest hour and still now. And for all those that know how to conserve and carry the beautiful banner of sincere friendship.

The title alone is a poem, and it's an act of faith that always there will be a friend near. I know that feeling when everything seems to be falling apart - but since I've retired I don't encounter it much because I'm not responsible for keeping order in a classroom, in the hallways, in young minds, etc. But your image of the worlds as DISGRACE OF NIGHTMARES is really powerful. Even a quick glance at the day's news confirms it. A headline in today's paper says the body of a missing 6 year-old has been found, obviously a murder victim. How, how can that be? Did Heaven look on and not take his part? as Shakespeare wrote.

Ah, yes, nothing like a true friend. Enjoyed. Thanks for sharing. And if your friend's name were Sharon, I would say Thanks for Sharon.
