A Dying Trade Poem by Jayne Louise Davies

A Dying Trade

Those old high street stores,
Have become a dying trade,
Replaced by online shopping,
Big companies have it made,
By the press of a button,
We just order what we like,
Everything's available,
From clothing etc,
To a new pushbike,
Whatever happened to shopping outdoors?
Everything arrives now,
Straight to our door.
High streets once were a bustling place,
Those forgotten stores,
Are so out of place,
The internet shopping has taken over us all,
Shops are now closing,
As they go bust and fall,
In this never ending changing world,
Support your local high street stores,
Give shopping there a whirl.
