A Dream Fulfilled Poem by Kaz Kawasaki

A Dream Fulfilled

A Dream Fulfilled

A King’s dream vibrates throughout the span of time
Indelible within the memories of our present rhyme
It may be history but the story never ends
One bounced check symbolizing the amends

It’s incredible that in one generation culture can change
Life is more fulfilling now that they’re in the game
Diversity is not a choice but it’s a great privelege
To stand next to you side by side and create the bridge

President’s may change and with it perspective
Just know that in the end we all want to be respected
It started not so long forty years ago
With one dream and a yes we can that’s what the future’s for

-From Kaz: Thought of this as I was lying in my bed and thinking of Obama. Decided to type it down before I forgot. I did this as a contrast to Langston Hughes' 'Dream Deferred'
