A Dollar A Day Poem by Francis Duggan

A Dollar A Day

Rating: 0.5

The employers should pay their workers for their work a fair pay
But for millions of workers around the World it is not this way
And thousands of millions are paid as little as a dollar a day
And for billions that life is tougher than tough does seem sad to say
A dollar a day does seem little to you or to me
So many have to work hard for to live in poverty
Yet of exorbitant salaries we do read of and hear
C E O's of big companies are paid millions a year
The gap between the haves and the have nots is widening by the day
And that the poor are getting poorer does seem sad to say
In a World where many of the wealthy know how to take but not how to give
For billions it is a hard struggle just for to live
That the poor are getting poorer it does seem sad to say
And far too many work hard for just a dollar a day.
