A Crushing Blow Poem by K. V. Venkataramana

A Crushing Blow

Rating: 5.0

You nurture an ambition
Of becoming great;
You cherish the hope of
Helping the poor;
You decide to bring up your children
In the best of traditions;
And you plan for a life
Full of events…
Alas! Then comes a gale
That rocks and uproots
The tree of aspirations
To fall flat
On the bosom of Time.

True indeed - that 'man proposes and god disposes'. Ten points again.

Man's greatness lies not in being but in doing! Notwithstanding the 'gale' one must overcome the 'Crushing Blow' and progress with HIS grace!
