A City That Shines Poem by T. Alfred Norman

A City That Shines

Once past a minute of eternal shadows
Right before the space of emptiness
Vacuums and explosions like volcanoes within
The limits of spoken voice in the void.

A dreamy sight of what you swore
You had never seen, only experienced - partially
With less emotion and hence forth that calm
Blue deep - Under the ocean on which you sail
Forever turn the other cheek.

Floating atop a trepid abyss - uncertainty
The affirmity of fate and future, apparent isolation
Seems so strong, Forcing you to plunge the depths
Against your will, committing your spirit to the unknown
Faith is assurance of things hope for

Hope is what carries you, not the wind in your sails,
Beyond that unseen barrier a multitude of wails,
Beyond the east horizon marking your venture
Known and unknown, path and progress converge
Dawning on coldness, the hidden son emerged

Illuminating a city, purer than gold and blood
A treasure for your heart at its most vivid flood
Yearning for peace, ideas in your head,
Lighting your voyage to the shining unsaid.

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

Words are like painting instruments to paint a masterpiece. Sometimes a masterpiece would be abstract and real. You as a poet is like a painter still struggling to define on what canvass and brushes are you going to use. But whatever your words in your poem you use still reflects your very 'excellent' and prolific tendency to become a 'seasoned' poet. Go for it! ! !
