Look me in the eye
The one that is open
The one able to cry
The other you have broken

Tell me you didn't mean it
You lost control of your drinking
Just for that instant, that minute
You didn't know what you were thinking

I've heard it so many nights
You go out to come home
You got in another fight
Cause all you do is moan

Now look into my heart
Please look inside me deep
To a face that is now scared
Because of a promise you didn't keep
