A Brief Respite Outside Of Time Poem by Noah Body

A Brief Respite Outside Of Time

Adrift inside the world tonight
A shadow untouched by the light
Separated from discord and unity
Outside of the human community
Deep melancholy peace pervades
Hollow ache weakened o'er decades
All color right now has gone away
Perception bathed in shades of gray
Night's phantoms faintly calling
Foreign thoughts so enthralling
Alone with the self in the dark
Gently nursing the fading spark
A brief respite outside of time
Renews the soul, serene, sublime
