A Books Life Span Poem by Nikki Accad

A Books Life Span

Do you remember the first time you held me in hands?
The way you carry me all the time in all lands
You used to enjoy me as a lad
And surely gave you cheer in times you're sad

The warmth of you hands I felt
Would be felt forever I bet
Yet when you're grown and set
Blissful tears together you will forget

I remembered the times I'm full of you're hugs
And now, where am I, filled with bugs
However, your face I saw
With excitement my pages I now gnaw

But who are these faces I see?
Who embraces me with love and glee
Your precious ones here I found
Joy I felt as I'm heaven bound

In spite of my whirled and curled pages
Your love for me outrages
Neglected was I, I thought
But then you've shown and your siblings you've brought
