A Black Monday In A Black Bank Poem by JESUROBOOWIE GIFT IMAFIDON

A Black Monday In A Black Bank

A black Monday in a black bank
It was like every other day
But something within me cried out
The rumours and rancour will proof me right
Is it true, that the Wall Street has cracked?

It is global we were told
But I know once in Africa, the deprived land
It will be hyper-credit crunch
Hurting more the already hunted souls

The threat to rationalised staff
send tension down my spine
who will still be around after the tsunami
even many that have toiled hard ended up as the victims

with such loom that gloom over the cloud
As a husband got his sack letter on Friday
And the wife to go on Monday
What a bleak way to end the year

The children’s school fees are due in January
Also with the annual house rent
Can any former colleague help
For not even their own fate is known
